An extension of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE's) 80*3Ethernet network protocol specification. IEEE 80*3u is also known as Fast Ethernetbecause it supports higher data rates than 80*3 100 megabits per second (Mbps)instead of 10 Mbps. See 80*3 and Fast Ethernet.
